The recently unveiled Nike Dunk Low "Black Spider-Man" (HQ3815-001) draws attention with spider web graphics that adorn the grey toebox and side panels, clearly nodding to the iconic comic book hero. The deep black leather upper and midsole suggest inspiration The Black Suit – one of the most iconic and dark incarnations of Peter Parker’s suit. A dark grey hue on the Swoosh and outsole completes this unique look.
It is worth emphasizing, however, that this Dunk model is not an official collaboration with Marvel's Spider-Man character, although it is hard not to notice that Nike leaves room for interpretation for fans. If the Swoosh were white, the association with the symbiotic suit would be even more unambiguous.
Interestingly, Nike has opted for a reflective finish on the logo instead of a white Swoosh. When illuminated, the symbol flashes white, resembling the effect of the real Spider-Man Black Suit.
